Today was a busy and chaotic day at Costco and Cub! It's the first Saturday of 2023, and with the New Year's holiday last weekend, and 15" of snow and ice and horrible weather all week, clearly everyone waited for today to shop!
The Costco parking lot was crammed, but they wisely had every check out lane open, so despite the occasional jam ups in the main aisles, we got out of there faster than ever. I don't think we bought anything unnecessary, but prices are still high. Our total haul was $210, plus gas at $2.92/gal.
We then headed to Cub Foods. The lot there didn't seem too busy and we did our first big shop of the year. The hold up was that they only had 2 checkers, and we waited in line for well over 30 minutes before checking out at $180, Ouch!
The quickest trip of the day was Costco. We scored a spot up front, ran in to grab the two things we needed (frozen jasmine rice and pizza dough), and $10.27 and less than 5 minutes later, we were headed for home.
We need to head back to avoiding weekend afternoons!
Thanks for stopping by!
