Introducing the Q-Zone Queen Frame!

studiosebb-0a

In early December, I finally did it! I ordered a longarm quilting machine and frame. Because they were having a huge sale, I was told it would probably be another 1.5 - 2 months before I received my shipment.

So Imagine our surprise (and my joy) on Christmas Eve, when the two huge boxes of the frame arrived at our front door!

The boxes were huge, and did not last well in the pre-Christmas package handling, but I eventually got them down to the basement, to their new home.

The out of box experience is very well thought-out and well done. Everything was packaged (and protected and then packaged again), and so despite the destroyed outerboxes, everything inside was intact, unharmed, and still wrapped and separated.

The project was a bit intimidating, and since I didn't have the longarm yet, I waited until closer to the end of the month to start putting the frame together.

When I did, I was really pleasantly surprised by the way they even labeled and separated the hardware. each separate pouch of the bag is labled with what it is, what part of the process it's needed for, and the quantity.

I want to say something snarky like "Ikea could learn from this" but I wouldn't want to pay this much for Ikea stuff, so I guess it's going to have to be enough that this OOBE is great.

Over a few days, I got as much of the frame together as I could, without the machine. Inspire of the excellent packaging, it hasn't been a project without challenges and hiccups. Putting the hard plastic (and curled) tracks in place was really hard, too hours, and I was left with bruised and sore palms on both hands. And the instructions (for some reason there is no series of videos for this frame, but there are for others) was confusing, and I missed a step, so it took me an hour to figure out how to get the spacing right on the back track, so that the carriage doesn't fall off!

I've finally got everything set up, and as of 12/30/2022, I've gone as far as I can while I await the machine. Looking forward to the next steps!

Thanks for stopping by!
